Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment requiring an active NY RN license, Epic experience, and EFM certification.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care teaching hospital
• Cares for all pregnant patients at any gestational age accepted by the provider team
• Triage evaluates pregnant patients at any gestational age and postpartum patients within 6 weeks of delivery
• Uses GE Fetal & Telemetry Monitors, Monica wireless fetal monitoring, Neopuff, and Draeger newborn warmers
• Epic charting experience required; unit also uses Non-Epic-CPN/GE Centricity
• Day (7a-7p) and Night (7p-7a) 4x12 shifts on alternating schedule
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required within skillset
• Facility performs 100-200 births per month

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN or LPN license required (NY is not compact); pending license not accepted
• BLS, ACLS or OB-ACLS, EFM certification, and NRP required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include assisting with vaginal delivery, circulating for C-section, C-section recovery, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, and Pitocin/Terbutaline administration
• Experience with APGAR scoring, newborn delivery care, ID/security banding, and radiant warmers/thermoregulation required
• Foley catheter insertion/management, fundus/lochia/perineum care, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy induced hypertension care required
• NST, EFM, and IUPC placement/calibration experience required

• Private birthing suites with on-unit ORs, advanced monitoring, and both OB and midwifery care available

• Facility rated High Performing for maternity outcomes
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday, if needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RNs residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted; LPNs may apply locally
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
