Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of pediatric experience for a Level III trauma center within a large health system.
Details
- Short term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds
- Pediatric respiratory care unit
- Day and evening shifts (4x10 hours)
- Weekend rotation at least every other weekend and every other holiday
- Holiday coverage required at least every other holiday
- Floating to an affiliate hospital as needed
- Uses Epic for charting
- Part of a large multi-hospital health system
Requirements
- CT and RI state licenses required; can start with one active and one pending
- License required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- CRT certification required
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Pediatric experience required
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment including Bubble CPAP, CPAP/BiPAP, and umbilical blood gases preferred
- Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
- Experience with high-risk delivery assistance and intubation assist preferred
- 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients including ventilator management, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric procedures as needed
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary respiratory care team
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with religious/medical exemption only
- Free parking provided on site
- Travelers must participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the facility
- Returning staff must be separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
