Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and a compact RN license in hand at time of submission.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- 3x12 hour shifts available, night (18:00-06:30) or day (06:00-18:30)
- Weekend rotation required, no more than every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float to other units or sister facilities within the health system based on skill set and staffing needs
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact) required in hand at time of submission
- OR RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year of ER experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates residing within 50 miles may be considered at a lower bill rate as local
- Scrubs are provided for ED staff
- No parking fees at this facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period if outside the 50-mile radius
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
