Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 20-bed overflow unit with mixed acuity patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
- Common diagnoses include sepsis, AKI, A-Fib, and general surgery cases
- Requires reading telemetry and titrating medications
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Night shift schedule from 6:45pm to 7:15am
- Works every other weekend
- Small unit with on-site educators
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Skilled in IV therapy, peritoneal dialysis, trach care, CPAP, wound vac, PCA, feeding tubes, and central line care
Additional Information
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and patient families to support care needs
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions
- Provide patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff while mentoring and precepting
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
- Comply with regulatory standards and unit practice governance model
