Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a day-shift hospital assignment requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- High-risk OB care for a culturally diverse patient population
- 11 rooms/beds with an average daily census of 15-20 patients
- RNs circulate on cesarean sections
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
- Floating required to meet facility needs, with travelers prioritized to float within their scope
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
- Experience with high-risk antepartum care, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Newborn care skills including APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, and discharge teaching
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean section recovery, and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal heart rate monitoring
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travamzer and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities in the area
