Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a PA or compact license, BSN, and 2+ years of specialty experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit setting with high acuity, fast-paced patient care
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1-2
• No floating required
• Weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend, including Friday/Saturday nights
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage required for at least one of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
• Uses Epic charting system, experience preferred
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Certifications required: NRP, ACLS, BLS
• AWHONN Intermediate or Beginner certification required (Advanced preferred)
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred due to high acuity and fast pace of the unit
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Central line (CVC/PICC) maintenance skills preferred
• Experience with high-risk antepartum and high-risk delivery preferred
• PA fingerprints (Childline and FBI) required within 12 months of start, completed within 1 week of signing
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
• Must complete labs within 48 hours of signing

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk deliveries
• Manage fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal resuscitation support
• Care for patients with complex conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and multiple gestations
• Support postpartum recovery including hemorrhage management and breastfeeding support
• Facility performs 200+ births per month in a teaching hospital environment
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a differentiated rate
• Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance, with a maximum of three attempts
• Modules completed during orientation; time beyond first 8 hours may be billable
• RTO must be submitted at time of application and will not be accepted afterward
