Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a self-contained elementary classroom, requiring an IL PEL LBS1 license (if applicable).

Details

Non-clinical school setting within an elementary special education program
Self-contained classroom serving students with special education needs
Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Approximately 35 billable hours per week
Assignment length of approximately 33 weeks

Requirements

IL PEL LBS1 license required, if applicable
Experience with educational life skills teaching, low incidence populations, and behavior planning preferred
Ability to collaborate with a team of providers and organize communication systems preferred
CPS fingerprinting and CANTS background checks required prior to start

Additional Information

Assist students in remedying academic and behavioral delays
Consult with school staff on appropriate behavioral and academic interventions for students in general and special education
Support elementary-aged students within a self-contained classroom environment
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of providers to support student needs
