Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years experience for a community hospital cardiac cath lab, considering first-time travelers.

Details

• Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab within a community hospital setting
• Schedule rotates between 5 weeks of 4x10 hour day shifts (7:00 AM-5:30 PM) and 1 week of 5x8 hour day shifts (8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
• On-call requirement of 12-14 days per 6-week period, including 1-2 weekends per 6-week period
• Must live within 30 minutes of the facility for call coverage
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic charting system (preferred)
• Equipment includes GE Innova IGS and Siemens systems

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab setting
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ARRT-R, CCI RCES, CCI RCIS, or CVT certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Skills required include venous access, central venous line care and maintenance, PICC line care and maintenance, EKG lead placement, room circulator duties, and sterile field scrubbing
• Experience with angioplasty, stent placement, and vascular studies/procedures required
• Experience with left and right heart catheterization, PCI, and PTCA required
• Preferred skills include hemodynamic monitoring, Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, and pediatric/neonatal diagnostic catheterizations
• Must be able to perform peripheral IV starts

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, electrophysiology studies, pacemaker and AICD insertion, and vascular interventions
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work them; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
