Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift contract requiring at least 2 years of RN M/S experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center hospital
• Cares for all Med/Surg patient types with ratios averaging up to 6 patients per nurse
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week from 19:30-07:30 (36 hours/week)
• 6-week schedule cycle with every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to any Med/Surg unit as assigned by the House Supervisor
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Central telemetry monitoring supported by a tele tech

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience required
• General Med/Surg skillset including trach and chest tube care, cardiac rhythm strip interpretation, and management of Lasix, insulin, and heparin drips
• Wound vac experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate's middle name/initial, date of birth, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Support team includes CNAs/Techs, HUCs, staff RNs, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomy for peripheral draws, and a Charge Nurse
• Facility-specific orientation includes NEO and 1 shift of unit orientation
• Holiday coverage required for one holiday per contract period based on organizational needs
• RTO approval available for up to 7 days
• Scrubs must be a solid color with no logos

• Former Advocate Health employees must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible for travel assignments
