Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care setting, requiring 1+ year of OT experience and LTC or Rehab experience.

Details

• Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility setting
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM as long as consistent and communicated with Director of Rehab
• No weekend requirements unless a holiday falls within the Monday-Friday schedule, in which case hours can be made up on the weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Compact license accepted

Requirements

• Current OT license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• New graduates accepted if Level II fieldwork experience is completed (Level I observation experience alone not sufficient)
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop appropriate plans of care
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions
• Provide rehabilitative treatment including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modalities, and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans according to regulatory and clinical standards
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans
• Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic system
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings
• Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed
• Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics standards
• Limited requested time off permitted during the assignment
