Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Acute care Emergency Department with 11 beds/trauma bays
• Level 4 trauma center located near a major interstate
• Approximately 37 patients per day with 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratios
• No fast track; patients placed direct to bed until full, then quick triage
• ER RNs manage all aspects of patient care including holds, triage, and psych/seclusion room monitoring
• In-house security and 24/7 in-house Respiratory Therapy support
• Imaging department located next to the ER
• Charge nurse duties shared with Triage RN, who covers patients for half the day
• 1 ED physician on 12-hour shifts, with occasional Nurse Aid/Paramedic support
• Uses MEDITECH EMR
• 12-hour shifts, scheduled as 07-19, 10-22, 13-01, or 19-07
• Every other weekend required
• Rare call/standby requirements
• Floating not typically required for ER staff

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC) required for the state of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2-3 years of ER RN experience required
• Must be an independent thinker and self-motivated
• Eligible to apply with a 90-day OR Emergency License
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive emergency care including triage, treatment, and patient hold management
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Unit-specific orientation includes 2-3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Holiday coverage required unless otherwise specified in signed contract
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
