Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele Step Down position requiring at least one year of experience and an active RN license (OK or compact).

Details

• Med Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• MS/SD experience required, ICU experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients with varying acuity levels
• Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting all physician order changes
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge information
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced; onboarding must begin immediately upon offer
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks prior to start date
• Returning workers limited to one extension up to 26 weeks total, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
