Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring an active AK RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of case management experience with Epic proficiency.
Details
- Acute hospital setting within the Case Management/Utilization Review department
- Day shift schedule (4x10 or 5x8), with shift times ranging between 0700-1800
- Weekend coverage required, either every other weekend or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, discharge planning, continued stay reviews, and determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required; ACM-RN certification preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of case management experience required
- Acute care hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
- Trauma Level II hospital experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

- Work at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
- Only one time-off request of 5 days or less allowed per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off permitted
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
- Disclosure required regarding any prior employment history with Providence facilities (permanent, travel, or per-diem)
