Description

American Traveler is hiring a Surgical ICU RN for a night shift assignment at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring CT/Compact RN licensure and Epic experience.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital setting within the SICU unit
• 426 staffed beds, designated Level II Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT state or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of SICU experience required (1.5 years may be considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Skilled in management of dysrhythmias and IV therapy
• Experience with arterial line and central line care/management
• Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Respiratory/thoracic care experience including BiPAP/CPAP management
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• 1 professional reference required

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including cardiac and respiratory management

• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
• Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Teaching hospital and Level I/II Trauma experience preferred
