Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift float pool position requiring a CT/compact license and prior Level I trauma center experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering 5 ICU specialties across two campus locations (York Street and Saint Raphael) with shuttle service provided
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to step down units as needed, including pulmonary step down with 1:3 ratios
• Uses Epic charting system
• Short term acute care facility with Level I Trauma Center designation

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: TNCC
• Trauma Level I experience at a large facility required
• Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, ventilator patient care, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience with external ventricular drain (EVD) management preferred
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties and step down units
• Travelers must be willing to participate in emergency response activities as needed
• Candidates must not be local, defined as residing within 75 miles of the hospital site
• Former permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO requests up to 7 days can be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require additional approval
