Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown Neuro position requiring compact or VA licensure and prior neuro experience.

Details

• Stepdown Neuro/Neuro Intermediate unit setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), working 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
• Call requirements based on unit needs
• Floating required, with travelers prioritized to float first, in rotation with staff per unit floating policy
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays

Requirements

• Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, neuro experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred, not required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, ventilated patient care, neurological and CVA/acute stroke management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management

Additional Information

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to neuro patients requiring close monitoring
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position
• Local candidates not accepted
• Scrubs are not provided
• Nicotine-free campus
• Holiday coverage required in rotation with staff as indicated in assignment confirmation
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO during the first weeks
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
