Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg unit position on night shift requiring recent Med/Surg experience and TN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 3rd Floor Medical Surgical/Neuro unit with 20 beds
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Tech support available on day and night shifts, with unit secretary coverage 7a-7p
• Uses IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, including 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Floating required, with contract labor staff floated first on a rotating basis

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required
• 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide attentive, compassionate care with bedside shift reporting and personal connections with patients and families
• Work within a facility recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center
• Navy scrubs (top and bottom) required as part of dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
