Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a true float position rotating across three campuses, requiring an active CA RN license and 3 years of ER experience.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
- True float position requiring rotation across three campuses located approximately 15 minutes apart, with shuttle transport available
- Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified with capability for shock/trauma cases
- 3x12 hour shifts rotating between nights (1900-0730) and days (0730-1930)
- Weekend rotation and on-call required
- Notified 2 hours prior to shift start regarding which campus to report to
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with a wide range of ER conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and interpretation of ABGs
- Experience with emergency medications including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation
- Proficient in 12-lead EKG acquisition and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Experience managing violent behavior and psychiatric holds
- Splinting and orthopedic trauma care skills
- Isolation precautions/PPE and triage skills required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and continual reassessment
- Serve as a patient advocate while coordinating care and promoting safety and clinical quality
- Manage a wide variety of emergent conditions across pediatric, adult, psychiatric, neurological, and trauma populations
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
