Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and the ability to circulate and transition newborns.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 200-300 births per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Rotates through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no post-partum)
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• 13-week minimum assignment length

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections and transition newborns
• Experience with high-risk antepartum and delivery management preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal (IUPC) methods
• Pending license accepted for consideration but must be active before start

Additional Information

• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction
• Provide neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Administer medications such as Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives
• Support patients through antepartum care including NSTs and sterile vaginal exams
• Manage postpartum complications such as hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Provide pain management support including epidural and PCA use
• RTO must be submitted with initial consideration
• Some holiday coverage expected
• On-site drug screening required, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for cancellation
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers considered as long as they meet experience requirements
