Description

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN with 1 year of ICU experience, NM or compact RN license, and ACLS/BLS certification for a rotating night shift assignment.

Details

• ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM) with 36 or 48 hour options
• Patient ratio of 1:2 in ICU, 1:6 if floated to Medical-Surgical
• Rotating weekend schedule required
• Float required to Medical-Surgical unit if no ICU need

Requirements

• Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Charting system experience required, EPIC experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory/thoracic care required
• Experience managing cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmias required
• Experience with post cardiac surgery and pre/post cardiac catheterization care preferred
• Experience with Swan Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Care for critically ill patients requiring multisystem monitoring and intervention
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency medication administration, and infection prevention practices
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, locals not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Brief unit orientation provided for floating assignments
