Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and Epic proficiency, first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain, dysrhythmias, hypo/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• 36-bed unit with average daily census of 35 and a 1:4-5 patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Wound care/wound vac and insulin drip management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and nursing care for cardiac and medically complex adult and geriatric patients
• Manage patients pre- and post-cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or not returning to a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment elsewhere before reapplying
