Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry/Stepdown RN with a CA license, prior travel experience, and at least 2 years of relevant specialty experience.

Details

• PCU/Stepdown unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Cares for telemetry and cardiac monitoring patients, including CVA, craniotomy, and post-cardiac procedure cases
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Shifts scheduled Sunday through Saturday, including weekends
• Float required across the unit
• Weekend coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a stepdown or telemetry setting
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Specialty experience must be within the last 2 years
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with sheath removal, TR Band, TAVR, and LVAD/RVAD preferred
• Experience with post-TPA care and craniotomy patients preferred
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred
• Experience managing vasoactive drips (no titration) preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac care to stepdown-level patients
• Support neurological and cardiovascular patient populations including CVA, craniotomy, and post-cardiac surgery cases
• Collaborate with rapid response and code teams as needed
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
• Candidates previously employed by the facility must disclose this at time of consideration and receive facility approval prior to assignment
• Once under consideration, requested time off (RTO) cannot be changed
