Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring Draeger vent experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Short term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of Yale New Haven Health System
- Level II Trauma Center
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Will float between two campus locations as needed
- Expected to rotate through all hospital units including NICU and Pediatric units, with frequency dependent on census and staffing needs
- Uses Epic for charting
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience required
- Level 2 Trauma experience required
- Acute care experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Draeger vent experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT
- State license required if applicable
- CPFT, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred
- Neonatal oscillating vent and high frequency jet vent experience preferred
- 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations including NICU and pediatric critical care
- May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
- Perform ventilator management, airway suctioning, ABG interpretation, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory distress syndrome
- Participate in high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports as needed
- Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are considered local
- Returning staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
