Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA RN license and labor/postpartum experience.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with 4x12 available upon request
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Floating required between like units and potentially sister facilities within the state
• No block scheduling available
• Facility may call off shifts once per two-week pay period
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Current certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of labor and delivery experience required (3 years preferred)
• Labor and postpartum experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and postpartum care
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Proficient in newborn care and neonatal resuscitation
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Manage antepartum care including NSTs, OCTs, and fetal heart monitoring
• Support breastfeeding and lactation for postpartum patients
• Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue or Navy Blue (OR/L&D scrubs provided)
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates not accepted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local rate rules
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
