Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring CA RN license, at least 2 years of labor and postpartum experience, and AWHONN Intermediate certification.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit in an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM), with 4x12 available upon request
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Floating required between like units and sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of labor and delivery experience required (3 years preferred)
• Labor and postpartum experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and postpartum care
• Experience with labor management medications (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline, Prostaglandins)
• Experience caring for patients with high-risk conditions (pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, VBAC management, etc.)
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and neonatal resuscitation
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, couplet care, and discharge teaching for new parents
• Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue or Navy Blue (provided for L&D)
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-submission requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Only one submission allowed at a time within the health system
