Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Birthing Center, part of a facility delivering 100-200 babies per month
• 16 staffed beds with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) with various days of the week
• Required to work every third weekend
• On-call requirements per unit needs
• Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities within the North region as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
• Required experience with Epic charting system
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal and high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Experience caring for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Postpartum care experience including couplet care, hemorrhage management, and lactation support

• Navy blue scrub color required
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care including antepartum monitoring, neonatal care in the delivery room, and pain management support
• Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during peak seasonal dates
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose this information
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment may not be rebooked for at least one year
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
