Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift CVICU/CVCU position requiring cardiovascular critical care skills and an active OR RN license.

Details

• Work in a blended cardiovascular care unit (CVCU) with 18 CVICU and 12 CVIMCU beds
• Care for patients 16 years and older with primary cardiac diagnoses including heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS/thoracotomy, IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post-PCI, pacemaker insertion, ablation, arrhythmia, and STEMI/NSTEMI
• Night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Constant floating expected between CVCU/ICU/PCU units, with priority to float to West Valley Hospital (approximately 15 minutes away)
• Epic charting experience required

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/CVICU experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Travel experience required
• Experience with shock program management preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Experience with CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, Impella, IABP, and post cardiac surgery care preferred
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation/management and multisystem organ dysfunction care

• Unit has achieved the AACN Silver Beacon Award for Nursing Care Excellence
• Robust training program available covering IABP, CRRT, targeted temperature management, and VAD care
• Former Salem Health employees must wait six months from termination date before being eligible for travel assignments
• Candidates may only be considered for one position within the Salem Health system at a time
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
