Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with at least 1 year of inpatient experience and recent Epic charting proficiency for a day shift hospital position.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- Med/Surg patient population with centralized telemetry monitoring
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
- 36 or 48 hour shift options available
- Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Includes free floating charge nurse and house discharge nurse roles across departments
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required
- Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Experience with nasal cannula respiratory support
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced Med/Surg and telemetry environment
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO auto-approved, and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
