Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced MICU RN for nights and every other weekend at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of continuous ICU experience and tele competency.

Details

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) within a Level III Trauma Center community hospital
• Cares for a wide range of adult patients including substance abuse/overdose, psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
• Night shift schedule, 19:00-07:30, with every other weekend required
• Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units
• No rotating shifts required
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
• Must be able to read telemetry strips and demonstrate telemetry competency for floating assignments
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a high-acuity, diverse adult ICU population
• Flu vaccination required during flu season with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Free on-site parking available
• Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate eligibility
• Candidates residing within 60 miles may be considered as local hires at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
