Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma adult acute care unit requiring 2+ years of recent RT experience and Level 1 trauma/ICU background.

Details

• Adult Respiratory Therapy unit within a Level 1 trauma acute care facility with 300+ beds
• Rotating day/night 12-hour shifts, primarily 12-hour with some 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• May float to other campuses within the Fargo area as needed
• Uses Epic EMR and equipment including Hamilton G5/C1 ventilators, V60, Airvo, CoughAssist, Vest, ResMed AutoPAPs, Radiometer ABL90 Flex, Aerogen, Nitric Oxide, 3100B HFOV, and patient home vents (Trilogy, Astral, Vivo)
• Works alongside a charge therapist and 6-14 other RTs per shift depending on campus
• Opportunity to pick up extra shifts

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience required
• Level 1 trauma and ICU experience required, ER experience preferred
• Experience in a facility with 300+ beds required
• RRT via NBRC preferred, CRT considered
• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) preferred
• ND state license required, or willingness to apply within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy assessments and protocols, arterial punctures, blood gas analysis, and ventilator/NIV therapy management
• Assist with intubations, bedside trach placement, bedside bronchoscopy, tracheostomy changes, decannulation, and extubations
• Participate in emergency response teams, ICU rounds, and intrahospital patient transport
• Complete lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts with unit RTs
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills required for coordination with the healthcare team
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrub color required: Steel Gray
• Local candidates accepted within 80 miles of the facility, at a reduced rate
• Candidates with prior Sanford Health employment must have an end date at least 6 months before submission
