Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU with 20 beds, split into two 10-bed sides mirroring each other with a centralized nurses station
• High acuity patient population ages 0-18 with congenital heart differences, including post-surgical, pre/post-transplant, s/p cath lab, VAD, ECMO, Impella, dialysis, and Aquadex patients
• RN to patient ratios vary by acuity: 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2
• Rotating 12-hour shifts (0645-1845 and 1845-0645) on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Weekend rotation of every other weekend or fewer, covering Fri/Sat/Sun
• Floating required to PICU, NICU, and General Peds as needed
• Call requirements apply based on prior scheduling
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a similarly acute facility required
• Experience with fresh open heart post-op and transplant patients required
• Experience with Aquadex, Impella, and ECMO devices required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 12 months of core experience in the unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

• IV/VAT team available; phlebotomy services in-house though rarely used due to prevalence of central lines
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays, with unit requirement of every other holiday
• RTO requests subject to manager approval
• Navy scrub color required

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
