Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for an 8-week contract to perform diagnostic CT and x-ray imaging on overnight weekend shifts.

Details

• Perform diagnostic x-ray and CT imaging as prescribed by physicians and radiologists
• Uses EPIC EMR to generate and complete exam orders
• Utilizes PACS systems for releasing and transmitting images
• Performs portable x-ray procedures for Emergency Department and nursing units as requested
• Transports patients as needed
• Shift schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM
• No holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Completion of a JRCERT-approved radiologic training program or equivalent required
• Current ARRT registration in R.T. required, with C.T. certification or willingness to obtain required
• Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification required
• Less than 1 year of experience required
• Ability to stand 7-8 hours and walk 6-7 hours per workday
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100+ lbs as needed

• Responsible for performing quality control checks, recording and analyzing QC data, and taking corrective action as needed
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment including equipment checks and area cleanliness
• Completes ongoing in-house education, competencies, and training on new protocols and equipment
• Works collaboratively with other departments to enhance patient and staff experience
• Flexibility to adjust hours and cover other shifts as needed
• Strong communication, time management, and analytical skills required
• Adheres to facility safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards
