Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring CNOR certification, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a community hospital
• 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Thursday, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• Rotating on-call required for after-hours and weekends
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CNOR
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, and podiatry preferred
• Skilled in emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia
• Proficient with OR equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana table, and Steris systems

Additional Information

• Provide scrub and circulating support across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, podiatric, and thoracic procedures
• Assist with minimally invasive and video-assisted surgical techniques
• Support administration of blood products, conscious sedation monitoring, and cardiac monitoring as needed
• Maintain infection control, radiation safety, and universal protocol (time-out) standards
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
