Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant experience for a teaching hospital assignment.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room within a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• On-call requirement of 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
• Focus on liver/transplant cases with other case types assigned when liver/transplant cases unavailable
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• EPIC charting system used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Active AHA or American Red Cross ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of submission
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• No pending licenses or certifications accepted
• Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience required
• Experience must include organ implantation, not just procurement/harvesting
• Proficiency in Misonix/CUSA required
• Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomy, and Whipple procedures
• Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana Table, and Steris equipment
• Skills in infection control, laser safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol (time out), urinary catheterization, and wound management
• One professional reference required from a direct supervisor, manager, ANM, or director in the OR specialty

• Provide surgical care across general OR and transplant specialties including heart, kidney, liver, and lung procedures
• Ceil Blue scrub color required
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Time-sensitive orientation modules must be completed promptly once assignment is confirmed
• EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation with a maximum of 2 attempts each and no remediation for retesting
• Strict no call-in policy enforced
• Smoke-free facility requiring nicotine-free status, verified through a negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
• All requested time off must be submitted and discussed at time of interview

• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Permanent staff cannot return to Cleveland Clinic for 1 year from their previous end date
