Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiology/Progressive Care Unit position requiring NM or compact RN license and prior IMC or Cardiology experience.
Details
- Work in the Cardiology/IMC (Intermediate Care) unit of a Level III trauma center
- 24-bed unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
- Patient population includes STEMI, NonSTEMI, stroke, post cath, and ETOH diagnoses
- Patient ratios vary by shift: IMC patients 1RN-3 pts with active titrating drips, 1RN-4 pts IMC, Med/Surg 1RN-5-6 pts on day shift; night shift 1RN-4-5 IMC pts and 1RN-5-6 Med/Surg pts
- Uses standard cardiology monitoring equipment including telemetry and T-1 monitors, IV pumps, and crash carts
- Cerner EMR used
- Night shift schedule (1900-0730) with varying weekend hours based on pay period
- No call requirements
- Floating required to units of need, typically PCU, Medical, Surgical, or Nephrology
Requirements
- Active RN license (NM or compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, both must be from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years of IMC or Cardiology experience preferred
- Associate's degree in Nursing or higher required
- Cardiology or IMC clinical experience required
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac and intermediate care nursing to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
- Reports to the RN Manager
- Located in Farmington, NM in the Four Corners region near Durango, CO and Albuquerque, NM
