Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring CT/compact RN licensure and prior trauma center experience.

Details

• SDU assignments (3:1 ratio) with occasional ICU coverage as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:3 across days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Trauma Level I experience at a large facility required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience with care of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs
• Proficient in continuous IV sedation and cardiac monitoring with emergency response
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support in a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting
• May be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
