Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced SICU RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) setting with float requirement to step-down unit as needed
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure requiring airway management and IV drip management

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required, must be active prior to start date
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patient, HFNC, suctioning (ETT/NT), ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, titration of vasoactive drips, CVA/acute stroke management, GI surgery care, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, and IV insulin protocols
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including airway management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Float to step-down unit as needed to support facility staffing needs
• Located at a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Local candidates not accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
