Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring CT/compact license, 2+ years of ICU experience, and prior travel experience.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting at a Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care facility
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Float to step-down unit as needed within scope
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: airway management, IV drip management, arterial and central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Manage complex surgical ICU patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support
• Participate in emergency response activities, including natural disaster response as needed
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff must have a 2-year break in service before returning as a travel employee
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
