Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab RN with a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active IL RN license for a Level 2 trauma acute care facility.

Details

• Work in the Pre/Post Angio department of a Cardiac Cath Lab unit within an acute care, Level 2 trauma hospital
• Unit has 6 pre/post beds averaging 4-6 cases per day
• Admit, prep, and recover procedural cases from Cath, IR, and EP
• Common diagnoses include STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, heart caths, peripheral angios, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, TEEs, cardioversions, and EP studies
• Uses Epic EMR and Philips monitoring equipment
• 12-hour day shifts with 4x10 call requirements as noted, may require staying late depending on caseload
• Charge nurse occasionally takes an assignment on shift

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Must be able to read telemetry strips and titrate drips
• Strong knowledge of IV medications required
• Experience with peripheral angio, IR, and neuro intervention cases preferred
• BSN not required for this position

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
• Work alongside Cath Lab Techs as part of the care team
• Unit-specific orientation typically lasts one week, or four shifts
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Facility does not require COVID vaccination
