Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week assignment providing inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation services.

Details

• Acute care setting within a combined PT, OT, and Speech Therapy unit
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm
• 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Weekend rotation required, working either every Saturday or every Sunday
• Holiday coverage required as part of the permanent staff rotation
• Position may be inpatient or outpatient depending on facility need
• Inpatient areas include general inpatient, rehab, and sub-acute units
• Rehab caseload includes spinal cord injuries, stroke, and brain injuries
• General inpatient caseload includes ortho, general medical, surgical, bariatrics, ICU, and cardiac
• Sub-acute caseload includes ventilated and long-term patients
• Outpatient locations include a free-standing ortho/sports medicine clinic and a clinic treating ortho, neuro, pediatric, and lymphedema patients
• No rehab aides, OTAs, or PTAs on staff
• Uses Cerner EMR
• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• Current OT license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Acute care setting experience required
• Swallow study experience preferred but not required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

• Provide occupational therapy services across inpatient and/or outpatient settings based on facility need
• Work alongside PT and Speech Therapy colleagues in a collaborative rehab unit
• Polo provided as part of uniform, paired with khakis or black pants
