Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a full float position requiring 4 years of ICU experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Float position across three campuses, each approximately 15 minutes apart with shuttle transport provided
• ICU setting with potential for Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU assignments
• 3x12 hour Day/Night rotating shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
• Weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers will be notified 2 hours prior to shift start regarding which campus to report to
• Rare to float mid-shift, though assignment may change campus by campus each shift

Requirements

• Active California RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experienced in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Experience managing acute/chronic renal failure and CRRT/CVVHD preferred
• Cardiovascular skills such as IABP, post-cardiac surgery care, and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Neurological skills including EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical care preferred
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices and isolation precautions/PPE required

Additional Information

• Provide direct ICU-level care to critically ill patients across multiple campuses
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• Returning travelers must have a one-year separation before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only one holiday RTO request approved per contract (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas)
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position due to travel experience requirement
