Description

American Traveler is seeking an ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center offering night shifts, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Details

Work in a 26-bed Emergency Department that serves as a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and STEMI-accredited facility
Tertiary care center serving southeast Idaho
General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric populations
Patient ratio of 1:4
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
Weekend shifts required
Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

Active State or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
TNCC certification preferred
Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
Epic charting experience preferred
Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP and ventilated patients, with ABG interpretation skills
Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and ortho trauma care
Previous charge experience preferred
Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Additional Information

Care for a range of trauma and emergency cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, near drowning, and spinal cord injuries
Pediatric emergency care experience preferred
First-time travelers welcome to apply
No travel pairs or groups accepted
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
Requested time off (RTO) limited to no more than 3 days auto-approved, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
