Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring telemetry and IV start skills with an IN or compact RN license.
Details
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Majority medical patients including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, COVID-19, chest pain, and small bowel obstruction
- Small surgical caseload of roughly 1-3 post-surgical patients per day including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, colectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Cerner charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
- Telemetry and IV start experience required
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to a mixed patient population
- Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local IN residents are not accepted for this position
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Any former IU Health perm or PRN employee must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break to reset eligibility
