Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and MI licensure.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week guaranteed, with option to pick up additional PRN hours
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to like medical surgical departments as needed, with travelers floated first
• Night shift ratios of 1:5-6, no LPN coverage on nights
• Patient population includes pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of Med-Surg experience required
• MS/Tele experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Supervisor-level references required
• Proof of flu vaccination required, with exemption submissions allowed within 48 hours of signing

Additional Information

• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Local rate applies for travelers residing 50 miles or less from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous Bronson internal travelers may return after 6 months, and previous permanent staff after 1 year
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days
• No holiday time-off requests; scheduling may be discussed with the manager based on unit needs
• Charge nurse role is typically free from patient assignments when fully staffed, but may take patients when short-staffed
