Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with charge nurse experience for a float position requiring WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Float role covering a mixed patient population including ER boarded patients, telemetry, and med/surg cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
• Nurse to patient ratio varies from 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
• May include charge responsibilities on smaller units staffed with 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs
• EPIC charting system used
• Floating required between sister facilities near the contracted site

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior US-based clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and nasal cannula respiratory support

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination when serving in the charge nurse role
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Travel experience is not required, making this position open to first-time travelers
