Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a float position requiring charge nurse experience and cardiac telemetry skills.

Details

• Float role within a short-term acute care hospital covering ER boarded patients, telemetry, and med surg units
• Patient population varies based on unit needs across the institution
• Nurse to patient ratio ranges from 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Charge nurse responsibilities required on select small units, including staffing, bed flow, and coordination duties
• Floating required between sister facilities within the region
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cardiac telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and nasal cannula respiratory support
• US clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify

Additional Information

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management on telemetry patients
• Charge duties apply only on select small units typically staffed with 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• RTO must be submitted upfront; requests after offer may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are subject to local rules
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience to be considered
