Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a 205-bed trauma center requiring 1+ years of experience and ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
Details
- 205-bed hospital with Level II trauma center designation
- 20-bed ICU with limited pediatric floor
- Services Medical, Surgical, Rehab, Progressive Care Unit, ICU, and limited pediatrics
- 4-6 RTs on staff every shift
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Active RRT license required if applicable
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skilled in adult and pediatric respiratory care including intubation assist, extubation, and airway suctioning
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Proficient in ABG interpretation and basic EKG
- Experience with aerosol setup, nebulizer therapy, and metered dose inhalers
- Tracheostomy care and management experience
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across Medical, Surgical, Rehab, PCU, ICU, and limited pediatric units
- Work as part of a respiratory therapy team of 4-6 RTs per shift
- Olive green scrub color required
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO during the first week of orientation
