Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift contract requiring MD or compact RN license and NCC C-EFM certification in hand.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to mother/baby unit as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• NCC C-EFM certification required in hand at time of consideration
• CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• 1-2 years of L&D experience required, with 2 years preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Proficient in neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn assessment
• Experience with antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum care and procedures
• Skilled in fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and recovery care
• Support newborn care including circumcision assistance, cord care, and discharge teaching
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
• Manage pain treatment including epidural and PCA use
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced travel rate
• Facility averages fewer than 100 births per month
