Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN for a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital, requiring ND or compact RN licensure and vasopressor titration experience.

Details

• Work in the 5C/D Cardiovascular ICU/IMC unit of a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital
• 32-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
• Care for 1-3 critically ill patients including neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical populations
• Manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips
• Assist with bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and line placement
• Utilizes Epic EMR, Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps, MOOG feeding pumps, IABP, EVD, Philips patient monitoring, AvaSure, and Impella
• Day/night rotating 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating required to other critical care units including 5AB, Intermediate ICU (up to 4:1 ratio), and Broadway ICU (up to 3:1 ratio), and may include med surg units as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (ND or compact state) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a 200+ bed, Level 1 trauma hospital
• Charge and/or preceptor experience preferred
• Required experience titrating vasopressor drips
• Required Epic EMR experience
• Ability to independently manage critically ill patients

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a diverse population of critically ill patients
• Receive 32 hours of orientation during the first week, including hospital, unit, Intermediate ICU, and Broadway ICU orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required with no holiday time off approved
• Self-scheduling allowed, though shifts may be adjusted to maintain unit balance
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced local rate
• Previous Sanford Health employees must disclose prior employment and have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
