Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5/6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7:30a
• Every other weekend rotation with holidays as needed
• Float required between all Cone Health facilities
• Care includes patients with acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-op general and GYN surgery, total knee/hip replacements, GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema, diabetes, renal failure, and drug overdose
• May administer IV drips including Heparin and TNA on the unit
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• MS Tele and Tele experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required in IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, remote and on-unit telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team participation, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for a variety of acute medical-surgical and orthopedic conditions, including arrhythmia monitoring and management
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
